Virtual Orientation: Student Schedule

*This is a general overview of the Virtual BSO program. A personalized schedule with meeting links will be provided before the program via the email provided on the orientation sign-up form.

8:25 - 8:45 am BSO Welcome and Program Overview
Kick off your orientation journey with an introduction from university leadership and the orientation team! You’ll meet our student orientation leaders, review the program schedule, and learn more about the rich experience you’ll have at Ohio University.
8:45 - 9:20 am Services to Know 
Representatives from the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Bursar’s Office, Transportation and Parking Services, and the Office of Information Technology will share valuable information to know in your transition.
9:20 - 9:30 am Break and Transition Time
Take a quick stretch break! Following, you’ll need to log in to your next session—first-year students, transfer students, and guests will each join separate meetings.
9:30 - 9:55 am Belonging to OHIO
Get to know your orientation leaders and other students attending the program while learning about the student experience.
10:00 - 10:55 am Succeeding as a New Student
Our orientation staff will share a few key things about the academic experience, as well as discuss important systems and processes used in the course registration process.
10:55 - 11:15 am Break and Transition Time
It’s time for another break! Following, you’ll want to log in to your next session. 
11:15 - 12:00 pm Thriving at OHIO
The Office of the Dean of Students will share resources and strategies to help you thrive both academically and personally at OHIO. You’ll also learn about the expectations the university holds for all Bobcats.
12:00 - 12:45 pm Lunch Break
12:45 - 1:20 pm Owning Your Student Experience
In this interactive presentation, Orientation Leaders will share perspectives on what it means to join our community and highlight next steps to prepare for fall semester. You’ll also reflect on your own goals as a new student.
1:30 - 4:45 pm*

Academic Essentials with Colleges and Course RegistrationConnect with advisors to review academic requirements and receive guidance on course registration. You'll also learn about OHIO Guarantee+ Graduation Plans. Advisors and orientation leaders will assist you with registering for next semester’s classes.

*Your scheduled appointment(s) during this time will be shared via a calendar invitation sent to your OHIO email address by 1:15 p.m. Some colleges have two meetings with students during this time (one for Academic Essentials and one for an advising appointment). If you see two meeting invitations during this time, you must attend both to complete course registration.You will join the meeting by clicking the link in the calendar invitation.

All students will be required to check-outwith an Orientation Leader after completing course registration to end their BSO experience.

1:45 - 5:00 pm Required Student Check-Out
This will be an opportunity to close out the virtual BSO experience and ask any final questions you may have for our team. Check out meetings will be one-on-one conversations during this time and will last approximately 5-10 minutes. Students should join the meeting below as soon as they wrap-up with course registration.
