Students looking to strengthen their professional qualifications can earn a customized Associate of Technical Study degree by using technical credits they've already earned at a career center or by selecting courses from multiple existing Ohio University programs. This flexible degree is designed to meet unique career goals that aren't fully addressed by current majors. With guidance from an Ohio University advisor, students will develop a personalized plan of study tailored to their specific interests and objectives.
Technical Study Courses
Students completing Ohio University’s applied associate degrees are required to complete 15 credit hours of Ohio Transfer 36-approved coursework including:
- Written Communication (3 hours). Either ENG 1510 or 1610 (for non-native English speakers only) will satisfy the Written Communication requirement.
- Quantitative Reasoning (3 hours). Courses that fulfill the Quantitative Reasoning requirement are marked in this catalog with the designation (FQR) as the general education code.
Students that plan to continue their education with a Bachelor of Technical Study are advised to select from the quantitative reasoning requirements for that program.
