OCOM 6009 - Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship 3


The third in a series of longitudinal courses that guides students towards competence in patient-centered primary care. This course helps learners develop the skills needed to lead in health care delivery science, population health, communications, health care team leadership, health information technology and analytics, as well as, patient-centered medical home practice.

Course Outcomes
  • Students will be able to explain the benefits of interdisciplinary health care teams.
  • Students will be able to identify the communicative needs of consultants and other parts of the health care system.
  • Students will be able to assist patients in connecting with peer support groups or other appropriate community resources.
  • Students will be able to assist patients with health behavior change.
  • Students will be able to apply team-based principles to patient care.
  • Students will be able to support and visit a panel of patients in a longitudinal fashion.
