Program Overview
The studio art minor is offered for nonmajors who wish to pursue study in art.
Admissions Information
To declare a studio art minor, consult with your major advisor and with a School of Art + Design advisor. Approval from the School of Art + Design director is required. Minimum requirements of 2.75 over GPA for admission. You must maintain a 3.0 GPA in the minor.
Opportunities Upon Graduation
The studio art minor is designed for students majoring in other fields who want to expand their knowledge of the history, theory, and practice of studio art.
Requirements
Studio Art Foundations and Art History Requirements
Complete two of the following courses:
- ART 1200 - Description Credit Hours: 4
- ART 1210 - Function Credit Hours: 4
- ART 1220 - Image Credit Hours: 4
- ART 1230 - Structure Credit Hours: 4
Complete one of the following courses:
- AH 2110 - History of Art I Credit Hours: 4
- AH 2120 - History of Art II Credit Hours: 4
- AH 2130 - History of World Art Credit Hours: 4
Studio Art Requirement
Complete one 2000-level studio art course and two 3000-level studio art courses from the following:
