Program Overview
The certificate program is open to civil engineering students and students not majoring in civil engineering at Ohio University. Upon completion of the CM certificate and graduation requirements, the student is awarded a certificate in construction management.

Requirements
Certificate Hours Requirements
The construction management certificate program requires a minimum of 21 hours.
Construction Management Core Course
Complete the following course:
- CE 2160 - Construction Engineering and Management Credit Hours: 3.0
Construction Management Electives
Complete a minimum of three courses. Students must take at least two courses from Group A and may take none or one course from Group B.
Group A
Complete at least two of the following courses:
- CE 4160 - Construction Estimating & Equipment Credit Hours: 3.0
- CE 4170 - Construction Planning and Scheduling Credit Hours: 3.0
- CE 4190 - Project Development, Contracts, and Law Credit Hours: 3.0
- CE 4540 - Sustainable Construction Credit Hours: 3.0
Group B
Complete none or one from the following courses:
- CE 4370 - Timber Design Credit Hours: 3.0
- CE 4380 - Prestressed Concrete Design Credit Hours: 3.0
- CE 4680 - Traffic Signal Systems Credit Hours: 3.0
- CE 4710 - Foundation Engineering Credit Hours: 3.0
- CE 4830 - Principles of Pavement Design Credit Hours: 3.0
Business Courses
Complete the following courses:
- ECON 1030 - Principles of Microeconomics Credit Hours: 3.0
- MGT 2000 - Introduction to Management Credit Hours: 3.0
Organizational Aspects
Complete one of the civil engineering capstone courses or an equivalent senior design course:
- CE 4910 - Senior Design- Land Development Credit Hours: 3.0
