The person selected for this position will serve as the Clinical Director of the Family Counseling Clinic. The starting date will be August, 2011. The Department offers master's degree programs in School Counseling, CACREP-accredited Mental Health Counseling, CACREP-accredited Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy, and a CAS-compliant program in Student Affairs. In addition the department offers certificate programs in International Student Services and Addictions Counseling and Education. The Department includes 10 full-time and several part-time faculty members. Courses are offered at the main and three regional campus sites using various delivery modalities. Responsibilities include directing the Family Counseling Clinic (FCC) during the academic year and summer. The Director coordinates counseling services in a multidisciplinary clinic along with development and outreach activities. The Director also provides supervision for counseling practicum and internship students placed in the clinic and works collaboratively with faculty to integrate clinic services with the Counselor Education programs. Additional responsibilities may include limited teaching. Finally, the director will be expected to participate in scholarship and service activities. Requirements are a doctorate from a CACREP accredited counselor education program with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy, eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and/or Marriage and Family Therapist in Kentucky, involvement and service in organizations associated with counseling and counselor education, and interest in and potential for scholarly productivity. Experience working in a mental health setting and knowledge of and experience with program assessment and clinical supervision are required. Experience working in a training clinic associated with a counselor education program is desirable. Submit a signed letter of application, addressing interest and qualifications for the position.
