Appointment is for Fall/Spring semesters with a possibility for summer teaching assignments. Earned doctorate in counselor education (CACREP Accredited) with a background in school counseling or clinical mental health counseling. Preference for individuals with school counseling background. Preference also given to individuals who are eligible for licensure as a professional counselor in Michigan. Applicants with demonstrated potential in research, teaching, scholarly activity and experience integrating technology into teaching, distance learning or other emerging information technologies desired. In addition to a background in school counseling, applicants with professional interest and experience in one of the following areas is also desired: school counseling, mental health counseling, career counseling, assessment, and vocational development theory/research. Must be eligible for doctoral advisor status based primarily on a record of professional activities including ongoing research activity, publications, grant work, contributions to professional associations and program development. Responsibilities include graduate teaching on the main campus in Kalamazoo and at off-campus Extended University Programs Regional Locations in Grand Rapids and Battle Creek, MI. Duties also include supervising practica and internships, advising and service on doctoral dissertation committees. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
