The Department of Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs in the College of Education at Kansas State University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor in counselor education with an emphasis on school counseling. The school counseling and counselor education programs are CACREP and NCATE accredited. Required Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Counselor Education or related field (completed by May, 2011)
Professional K-12 school experience 
Evidence of or potential for scholarly activity
Strong potential for excellence in instruction
Experience with diverse populations


Preferred Qualifications

Earned doctorate from a CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program 
Experience as a school counselor
Record of university teaching experience
Experience of integrating technology into courses
Knowledge and/or experience developing and teaching online courses
Successful supervision experience 
NCC and/or other counseling credentials
Record of involvement in professional organizations

The review of applications has been extended until March 18, 2011. Qualified candidates should submit the following documents: A cover letter describing how their educational background and professional experience meet the required and preferred qualifications for the position; a curriculum vitae; official university transcripts of all graduate degrees; and three letters of reference from professional supervisors or professors.
