The Counselor Education program is CACREP accredited. The program offers degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, and a Doctoral program in Counselor Education and Supervision. This program is part of the Counseling programs in the department and contributes to the Counseling Psychology Doctoral program (APA). We are seeking someone with expertise in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Community Counseling and/or School Counseling. Required Qualifications: (1) earned doctorate in counselor education with emphasis clinical mental health counseling, community counseling and/or school counseling; (2) evidence of professional counseling experience in area of emphasis; (3) evidence of strong potential for excellence in college teaching, with preference of experience at the graduate-level in counseling and related courses; and (4) experience in research and publication. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required. Desired Qualifications: (1) professional counselor licensure or licensure eligibility; (2) demonstrated experience in grant preparation; (3) demonstrated experience working with diverse populations; (4) demonstrated experience in professional service in counseling organizations. Responsibilities: (1) teach graduate courses in counseling programs (Masters/Doctoral -Counselor Education, Doctoral-Counseling Psychology); (2) conduct research and prepare manuscripts for professional publication; (3) participate in program administration and student clinical practice supervision; (5) prepare grant applications to secure funding for training, research, or service; (6) ) participate in student research activities including participation in students' dissertation/thesis committees; (7) participate in professional outreach activities in school and community settings; (8) participate in professional service activities in counseling organizations; and (9) participate on department, college and university committees.
