GENERAL DUTIES
Performs teaching, research, and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise as noted below. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments, performing administrative, supervisory, and other functions as may be assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Department of Educational Foundations and Counseling Programs in Hunter College's School of Education All candidates must have a commitment to work in multicultural and urban settings. Teaching experience is required. The candidate must demonstrate scholarly involvement as evidenced by publication, research and grants within the specialty in the profession of counseling. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Duties include teaching graduate courses in counselor education programs; engaging in research, scholarly writing, and grant work; and serving on program, department, school, college, and university committees, where appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent as noted below. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Earned Ph.D. or Ed. D. in counseling psychology or counselor education required. Master's and Doctorate in Community/Agency Mental Health Counseling preferred. Must have a LMHC or be LMHC eligible in New York State. Experience working in diverse urban multicultural mental health settings preferred. Research and grant activity and scholarly publications are necessary.

COMPENSATION
Assistant Professor: $42,873 - $81,645
Associate Professor: $55,602 - $96,635

Distinguished Lecturer positions are full-time but non-tenure track positions with a maximum appointment period of seven years, subject to annual reappointment.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Coordinate clinical field experiences for the MA Programs in School, Mental Health, and Rehabilitation Counseling. The duties associated with the position include a teaching load of nine credits within the Counseling programs per academic year and fifteen credits of reassigned time for the purpose of clinical coordination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and a record of achievement in a profession or field of expertise related to anticipated teaching assignments. Also required is the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Earned MA in counselor education and supervision, plus employment as a faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year required. Permanent certification in School Counseling and/or CRC or LMHC. Experience with and/or commitment to working with diverse populations preferred.

COMPENSATION
Commensurate with qualification and experience.
