Subject: Position Announcement

Dear colleagues,

Please find below the position announcement for the Director of Counseling Psychology Program at our institution. It is a beautiful Florida day, sunshine and 75 degrees, although the right candidates will need to demonstrate more substantial reasons to apply :). We appreciate your consideration of this opportunity. Nominations are welcome as well. If you will be attending the ACA conference, feel free to let me know, and my colleagues and I can try to arrange to meet with you to discuss this position and our program.

Have a great day!

Graduate Counseling Psychology Program Director/ Associate Professor of Psychology

The School of Education and Behavioral Studies at Palm Beach Atlantic University is seeking an energetic and creative program director who will provide forward-thinking leadership to an established graduate program that has produced over 1,000 graduates since its founding in 1995. The program is poised to develop a doctoral program in addition to enhancing the existing five counseling program tracks (mental health, marriage and family, school, addictions, and generalist).

Consistent with the program theme, Clinically Professional, Distinctively Christian, the University seeks a proven leader who has demonstrated success as both a professor and departmental chair/associate dean or dean in a university setting, and success in providing counseling services from a Christ-centered perspective. The ideal candidate should possess an earned Ph.D., Ed.D., or Psy.D. from a regionally accredited university, be a licensed or credentialed counseling provider, have had leadership experience in doctoral counseling education, and be familiar with CACREP and similar accreditation standards and procedures. The director should be eligible for appointment to the rank of associate professor or professor of psychology.

The prospective director will be the chief academic and administrative officer for the program, including budget, curriculum, personnel, and resource allocation, and the supervisor of the ten full-time and ten part-time faculty situated on the West Palm Beach and Orlando campuses. The director position will be a twelve-month administrative position with some teaching required. The director will be charged with developing an innovative doctoral program and achieving specialty accreditation.

The program currently has over 100 students on the Orlando campus and over 200 students on the main campus in West Palm Beach. The director will reside in West Palm Beach and report directly to the Dean of the School of Education and Behavioral Studies. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
As with all faculty members at Palm Beach Atlantic University, this director/faculty member must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and the ability to integrate Christian faith with counseling and psychology. This director/faculty member must demonstrate a commitment to the program goal of being clinically professional and distinctively Christian.
