Subject: Doctoral Teaching Internship - University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

Because you work with doctoral students in an accredited Counselor Education and Supervision Program, I am writing to ask your assistance with sharing some information about an exciting doctoral teaching internship at UW-Whitewater (UWW). The teaching internship was designed to help future counselor educators experience fully the joys and challenges of faculty life. The intern will teach classes independently (and with supervision), attend department meetings, participate with the service work of the department, and focus on their research efforts. We have been able to put together a competitive package (stipend, professional development funds and benefits) that we hope will be attractive to your students as they work to complete their CES doctoral programs. It is also important to note that they will be working with a dedicated faculty and staff of counseling professionals who work with students in CACREP-accredited Master’s of Science programs in CMHC and School Counseling. The position description is included below.

If you know of doctoral students who may be interested, please ask them to submit application materials no later than November 18. If they have questions, they are welcome to email me directly. You might also let them know that I will be at the meeting of the North Central Association of Counselor Education and Supervision (October 20-22) and I would be happy to talk with them there. Thank you for the work you do to prepare future counselor educators.
