Call for Applications The Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD) is accepting applications for the 2017 Mentoring Program. There are two types of applications being accepted for the mentoring program: 1. Graduate counseling students (masters or doctoral level); and 2. New professional (applicants that have graduated and been working in the profession no more than 3 years). Selected applicants will receive registration reimbursement for the upcoming conference and a ticket to the AMCD Luncheon. Selected mentees will serve as volunteers for the various AMCD sponsored events at the upcoming ACA conference in San Francisco, CA in March 2017. For consideration, applicants must: (a) be AMCD members by January 27, 2017 (b) forward a letter of support from a current AMCD member, and (c) submit a research proposal that includes a clear rationale for the proposed study that mirrors a multicultural issue reflected in the mission and goals of AMCD. Selected research proposals will be presented in a poster presentation at the Mentoring Program Research Symposium held at the annual Mentoring Program Meeting during the ACA conference in San Francisco. Applications are to include a cover sheet that includes full name, institutional affiliation or organization affiliation, and applicant status (masters level, doctoral level, new professional). Graduate students must also submit a letter from their advisor verifying graduate student status.
