ECU is a state regional university offering thirty-three undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs in arts, business, education, mathematics, sciences, nursing, and the social sciences; and six master's degrees in accounting, education, human resources, psychology, management, and water resources. ECU's 4,200 (average) students come from 35 countries and 22 different states. About 65% of the 147 full-time faculty hold doctorates. The Position: The Department of Professional Programs in Human Services in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at East Central University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) in the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counselor Education program to begin in August 2019. The successful candidate will teach primarily in the CACREP/CORE accredited Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counselor Education program, supervise interns and practicum students, pursue a focused area of scholarship that culminates in publications, professional presentations, and submission of grant proposals, be active in relevant professional associations/organizations, advise students, and engage in service to the department, college, university, and community. The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences is committed to equity, diversity and inclusiveness, engaging students in active learning, and providing online instruction for adult learners. Additional duties may be required as needed Qualifications: An earned Doctorate in Rehabilitation Counseling, Mental Health Counseling or related field which meets the CACREP requirements for core faculty, or which meets grandfather provisions for existing rehabilitation counseling faculty or recent graduates ABD or Master’s degree will be considered. Applicant must be a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or eligible to sit for the exam, and/or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or eligible to sit for the Oklahoma LPC examination. Experience with instructional technology (internet, instructional software, Blackboard) and the ability to teach in traditional and non-traditional formats and settings (off-campus, weekends, on-line) are preferred. Two years applied experience in the field of Rehabilitation Counseling/ Mental Health Counseling is highly valued.
