Another course announcement! Field Entomology BIOS 4360/5360 (3 cr) will be offered this spring. In the past this course has attracted students from PBIO and Environmental Studies as well as BIOS, so have students contact me if they are concerned about not having pre-requisites. The course is an introduction to insect biology, diversity and distribution in natural habitats. Students will become familiar with common insect families, field sampling methods, and procedures for identifying and preserving specimens. Grades are based on field/lab reports, laboratory practicals and a final project (the student's insect collection). Best, Kelly J Dr. Kelly S.
