Howdy Folks! At long last, after a Covid-induced break, the OCEES Darwin Speaker series has been revived! This year the speaker is Dr. Luke Harmon from the University of Idaho. Dr. Harmon is one of the world’s experts on phylogenetic comparative methods. In fact, many of us read one of his books in a graduate seminar last year. All the information is in the attached flier, but here are the essentials (set aside the date!): A World Without Species by Luke Harmon 2024 Darwin Speaker Thursday, April 4th Irvine 199 4 PM - 5 PM We’ll organize times for Dr. Harmon to meet with people as we get closer to the date. Also, there will be a pizza lunch for graduate students on the 4th. Finally, on Friday, April 5th Dr. Harmon will teach a workshop — but we’ll explain that in a separate email.
