Assistant Professor of Instruction - Engineering Technology

Dr. Syed Ahmed is an accomplished academic and research leader with nearly 20 years of global experience in robotics, mechatronics, automation, computer, and electrical & electronic engineering. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Instruction at Ohio University Lancaster and the Fairfield County Workforce Center, where he contributes to advancing the fields of robotics and automation through both teaching and research. 

Dr. Ahmed has held senior academic and managerial positions internationally, including Program Director and Assistant Professor at Aston University (UK), Head of Robotics & Automation at MIAT College (USA), and Industrial Consultant and Senior Lecturer at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). His career also includes impactful teaching and research roles at Universiti Malaysia Perlis and extensive experience in engineering education in Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Dr. Ahmed holds an M.Sc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Computer Controls & Automation) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and has conducted advanced research in unmanned systems at Universiti Malaysia Perlis.

Passionate about the integration of education, research, and industry, Dr. Syed Ahmed continues to shape the future of intelligent systems and engineering education with a global and forward-thinking perspective.
