Director of Student Services

Dr. Sarah Bogdewiecz is a dedicated higher education leader and scholar, currently serving as Director of Student Services at Ohio Lancaster, where she oversees key initiatives supporting student engagement, academic success, and equitable campus experiences. She brings over a decade of experience in student affairs, academic support, and institutional strategy to her role.

Before joining Ohio University in 2023, Dr. Bogdewiecz served for more than 11 years at Northern Virginia Community College, where she held the role of Coordinator of Academic Support Services. Her leadership there focused on strengthening student retention, enhancing academic advising models, and implementing holistic student support programs. She also served as a VCCS Chancellor’s Fellow for the Virginia Community College System, contributing to statewide efforts in policy development and student-centered innovation.

Dr. Bogdewiecz earned her Ph.D. in Education from George Mason University, where her graduate research explored topics such as grassroots and non-positional leadership, organizational change, professional identity, professionalism, the role of professional staff, workplace equity, and gender and work. She also holds a Master of Arts in Applied Anthropology from the University of Memphis, a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from The University of Toledo, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Anthropology, also from Toledo.

Her scholarship and administrative practice reflect a deep commitment to workplace equity, inclusive leadership, and transformative educational environments. Dr. Bogdewiecz continues to contribute to the evolving landscape of higher education with a focus on access, advocacy, and innovation.
