Join WellWorks on April 22, 2018 as we celebrate Athens Beautification Day .
GivingWorks, a service effort housed within Ohio University’s WellWorks program, is partnering with Women for Recovery and Chrysalis Farm to facilitate a service site at Serenity Grove, a women’s recovery facility, during Athens Beautification Day on April 22. On this date, volunteers will assist Chrysalis Farm with the building, filling and mulching of raised beds on the Serenity Grove grounds. The grounds, which will undergo a multi-phase renovation, will be incorporated in the wellness journeys of the residents. Throughout their shifts, volunteers will be encouraged to take movement breaks and will be given opportunities to learn more about the important role community plays in the healing process, particularly at Serenity Grove.
Volunteers can select to work one or both of the four-hour shifts. WellWorks members and employees are encouraged to register for Athens Beautification Day and join the Serenity Grove volunteer site by typing “WellWorks” as their group name. Any volunteers received in excess of our capacity will be automatically assigned alternate worksites.
WellWorks, an initiative of OHIO’s College of Health Sciences and Professions, offers a wide array of wellness services to Ohio University employees as well as the surrounding area.
