Since 2015, Walla has led students into the southeast Ohio community to produce videos with non-profit client partners. With a professional background in communications and marketing, her expertise with video production helps assure students are learning and creating products that non-profit clients can actually use.
Media Production for the Community, MDIA 2702C, is a course Walla developed with the CCCE. The course introduces students to service learning and community engagement though the production and creation of single camera videos for local non-profit organizations. Walla and her students have partnered with a variety of non-profits from different areas including the Dairy Barn Arts Center, the Athens County Foundation, Live Healthy Appalachia, Good Works, The Southeast Ohio History Center, and more!
