The Department of Residential Housing records span from 1959 to 2000 and contain records documenting the management and operations of Ohio University student residence halls. The collection is organized into four series: 1. Housing Office; 2. Residence Halls; 3. Residence Life Office; and 4. Residence Services and Auxiliaries.

History of Department of Residential Housing
As of 2010, the former departments of Residence Life and Off-Campus Living and the Housing Office have come together to form the Department of Residential Housing. The Department of Residential Housing is responsible for the residential system of halls housing students. Residential Housing is comprised of the Central Office in Chubb Hall, a main office on each residential green, and staff offices in each residence hall or complex.
