Biography of The Ohio University Review
The Ohio University Review was a journal published by the Department of English at Ohio University (OU) from 1959 to 2001. It published articles "of inquiry in the humanities... of a broad humanistic nature based on sound scholarship" and invited all members from the OU faculty to submit articles. The journal was distributed to libraries throughout the United States and internationally. The original Board of Editors included Eric Thompson, Morton Benson, Stanley Grean, Charles Mayes, Eric Molin, Paul Murphy, William Olpp and Edward Stone. By the second issue, "exceptional papers by graduate students" were being considered as long as they were endorsed by a faculty member. In 1971, it was renamed The Ohio Review. In 2005, the Creative Writing Program of Department of English began publishing The New Ohio Review.
