Scope and Content
The scrapbook of cartoon images of Herbert Hoover (HH) spans from 1928 to 1949 and contains newspaper cartoons depicting American president HH from his 1928 presidential campaign through World War II (WWII). The creator of this scrapbook is unknown. Most of the images are taken from the following newspapers: Chicago Tribune, New York Herald Tribune, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Cleveland News, Columbus Dispatch, Ohio State Journal, Washington News, and Soviet Russia Today. The cartoons depict HH's election campaigns in 1928 and 1932, and his presidency during the Great Depression and WWII. The scrapbook also contains some newspaper articles regarding HH's policies and actions.
