Scope and Content
The School of Rehabilitation and Communication Sciences records span from 1947 to 1973 and document the activities of the former School of Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences (SHSLS) at Ohio University. The records of the SHSLS contain accreditation materials, brochures, newspaper clippings, and program descriptions. The collection also contains records from the Hearing, Speech and Language Clinic including the handbook, blank examples of diagnostic forms, a quarterly report, and description of services provided by the clinic.

In 2010, Ohio University's School of Physical Therapy and School of Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences combined to form what is now the School of Rehabilitation and Communication Sciences. The newly formed school, which is part of the College of Health Sciences and Professions, has two academic units: Communication Sciences and Disorders and Physical Therapy. The School of Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences was founded in 1937.
