Americana Pamphlet Collection Part A
Scope and Content
The Americana Collection, Part A is the first half of the Americana Collection. The entire collection consists of over 950 pamphlets published between 1791 and 1992. The majority of the collection is from the 19th Century. Contents include political speeches and hearings, commentary on governmental actions, sermons and reports on institutions and groups. Topics are varied and range from agriculture, slavery, coins, cooking, suffrage and war. All of the pamphlets were published in the United States and reflect American culture over a two hundred year period.

Abstract
The Americana Pamphlet collection includes over 950 pamphlets housed in 39 boxes. Dates range from 1791 to 1992. Over 650 pamphlets date from the 19th Century. They were aquired through purchase and gifts. The contents of the collection include political speeches and hearings, commentary on governmental actions, sermons and religious writings, and reports on institutions and groups. A range of topics are covered including slavery, agriculture, housekeeping, suffrage and war. The collection is listed in two parts. Part A lists 484 pamphlets. Part B includes 485 pamphlets. The collection is arranged chronologically.
