Florence Beryl Fishel scrapbook
Scope and Content
The Florence Beryl Fishel (FBF) scrapbooks dates from around 1912 to 1915 and contains collected photographs and ephemera from FBF's student days at Ohio University. The items in the scrapbook include photographs of FBF and other young women in costumes and on outings, as well as calling cards, invitations to Phrenocon social events, programs from class days and commencements, and other small mementos.
The pages of the scrapbook were removed from the book itself, and were not in any apparent order at the time of processing. Each individual page is in a separate folder-13 pages and folders in all. Two additional folders contain a loose Phrenocon Association program and several photographs that have come loose from their pages. The pages and folders are arranged in as chronological an order as possible based upon any dated material on the page. The first nine folders are in order from 1912-1915. The page in folder 10 has items from several different years, and folders 11 through 14 contain pages for which dates cannot be determined. Folder 15 holds the loose photographs, which appear to be from several different years prior to 1911.
Although the pages have no numbers, it is easy to distinguish between front and back, as the left-hand edge of the front side of each page is jagged from being removed from the scrapbook. The inventory also designates which materials are on the front and back of each page.
