Ohio University Student Artist Book Collection
Scope and Content
The Ohio University Student Artist Book collection contains over 1000 artists' books created by students in College of Fine Arts courses. The books are required projects in Graphic Design classes such as Typography,Letterpress Printing, and Graphic Design Studio. Faculty teaching these classes deposit the books each quarter. They are unique in design and single or limited editions.
The collection dates range from the 1970's through the present. Materials are arranged in five series named for the courses in which they were created as well as chronologically. The faculty teaching the course is noted. Each book is also documented with title and author. The subject contents of the books are wide ranging, as are the materials used to create them. Paper, ceramics, rubber, metal, and wool are examples of materials used in individual works in this collection.
