History of the Southeastern Ohio Black Lung Association
The Southeastern Ohio Black Lung Association deals with legal benefits to be obtained for miners afflicted with black lung disease. The Association was founded on October 6th of 1974 by Jim Kidd of Millfield Ohio, a retired miner and first president of the Association, and was the first of any Black Lung associations in Ohio, inspired by the information provided by the UWMA and West Virginia and Pennsylvania Black Lung Associations. The Scrapbook itself stretches from 1959 to 1976, and was constructed and curated by Mr. & Mrs. James Kidd themselves, and completed/donated in March of 1980.
