Lavelle Family Ledgers
Scope and Content
The Lavelle family ledgers include a time book and an accounting ledger and were written by either John Lavelle or his son Thomas Lavelle. Several of the entries in the ledgers relate to farming and the railroad company. One ledger contains a letter from JL to TL.
The time book covers time period from 1929 till 1930, and contains information about reimbursement of personnel including the names, total time of work and rate per day as well as a total amount or reimbursement. The accounting ledger covers time period from 1925 to 1939, and contains names of different companies and type of goods which were bought from them as well as amounts of money.

Biography of Lavelle family
The Lavelle family were long-time residents of Athens, Ohio. John Lavelle (1854-1939) was a farmer and timber superintendent working for a railroad company. JL was married to Cecily Lavelle (1860-1908), and they had six children: Frances, Ambrose, Thomas, Michael, John B., and Nelle.
