I never knew thought of myself as a writer until my third grade teacher told me I was actually pretty good at it. So\, from the age of nine\, I fl ip-flopped between wanting to be a physician and wanting to be a writer. I thought about going to medical school. I thought about going to PA school. I thought about working at media outlet or a public relations firm. At one point\, I even deeply considered a career in genetic counseling. I started and ended my college career as a journalism major\, and thanks to the many professors who mentored me along the way\, I finally learned that I didn’t have to choose one or the other\, but that I could combine my love for comm unications and science. I took classes alongside my STEM friends and my jou rnalism friends\, and they taught me the value of determination and passion above all else. Now\, about one month into my career as a pharmaceutical s ales representative\, I am confident that I have finally chosen the right p ath. I work at Supernus Pharmaceuticals in Rockville\, Maryland\, near Wash ington\, D.C.
