ABOUT ABCD X MOVEMENT

This is the second annual collaborative concert between Athens Black Contemporary Dancers and The Movement Organization, which are both student organizations on the Ohio University campus. The ABCDxMovement Concert is choreographed and produced by students, through an adjudication process where any student on campus can apply to choreograph a piece for the concert. 

The Movement Organization is an organization for Ohio University students interested in the performance of dance, and other presentations of dance and artistic collaborations involving movement. A primary aim of the organization is the promotion of dance as a thriving art in both the University and the Athens community.

Athens Black Contemporary Dancers (ABCD) was founded at Ohio University in the fall of 2005 by a group of women that wanted to make a difference. After making performance appearances around campus,  ABCD became very well known for their exceptional display of dance as an art form. ABCD aims to reach a diverse group of individuals, interested in expanding their knowledge of dance and dance culture that will help them along their dance journey with diverse dance styles and bringing them throughout Athens Community and Ohio University.
