Dashiell\, who has served as director of the E.W. Scripps S chool of Journalism for five years\, was both the first woman and the first African American in the position. She has also served as the associate dir ector of undergraduate studies in the school and as associate dean of gradu ate studies in the Scripps College of Communication. Prior to working at Oh io University\, Dr. Dashiell worked as a broadcast journalist in Tennessee and Missouri and taught at Middle Tennessee State University.\n\nDr. Dashie ll has served as a beloved educator and mentor to many. She is also a 2025 inductee into the Ohio Communication Hall of Fame. Please join us to honor and celebrate her on Friday\, April 11\, with remarks beginning at 2 p.m. i n Schoonover Center 145\, with a reception to follow.
