Most of these heartland communities rely on traditional economic dev elopment strategies to reinvigorate their economies. Yet\, evidence suggest traditional economic development tools may be ineffective compared to inve stments in quality of life and place. Rather than a return to the past\, a Rust Belt Rebound may require a new community vision of what makes the Midw est a nice place to live and work.\n\n \n\nAbout the speaker:\n\nDr. Amanda Weinstein is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Akron.
