DESCRIPTION:Ohio University Southern Art Gallery will feature an exhibition
of Zachary D. Jones mixed media art\, beginning Monday\, October 24\, with
a closing reception on Tuesday\, November 22 at 5 p.m.\n\n \n\nJones\, a S
outheastern Ohio native\, pours his real-life experience into his work\, wh
ich represents both the natural and holistic need to escape\, as well as th
e many layers of the human experience.\n\nJones works outdoors in the footh
ills of Appalachia\, creating art in nature. He is guided by the local clim
ate and natural biome of his residence in Athens\, Ohio\, sourcing charcoal
from his fire pit and mixing naturally-derived -pigment paint with creek w
ater. \n\n \n\nThis exhibition will feature a collection of mixed media art
that will be on display in Dingus Technology Center located on OHIO Southe
rn’s campus. Some of Jones’ previous works have been shown at the Zanesvill
e Museum of Art\, Marcia Evans Gallery\, Dairy Barn Cultural Art Center\, a
nd the Multicultural Art Gallery Baker Center Show. \n\n \n\nThe exhibition
runs through Tuesday\, November 22. The Ohio University Southern Art Galle
