OCOM 7025 - Pediatrics


The two-week Pediatric course introduces the second year Medical Student to primary care pediatrics, and focuses on the considerable difference between a sick child and well child from adult and geriatric counterparts. Emphasis will be placed on identification, diagnosis and treatment of the pediatric patient.

Course Outcomes
  • Differentiate between medical care needed for infant, child, or adolescent and their adult and geriatric counterparts.
  • Introduce the 2nd year Medical Student to primary care pediatrics.
  • Prevention, identification, diagnosis and treatment of pediatric illnesses.
