DANC 2710 - Black Dance Forms
Familiarizes students with black dance forms and the contributions that African Americans have made to the development of dance in America. Discussions, readings, videotaped material, live performances, and studio practice contribute to the students’ experiential learning.
Credit Hours: 3

Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate an understanding of and appreciation for the various African and African American dance forms through verbal participation in the lecture component of the course.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the course material through physical participation in the studio based course assignments.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the course material through written work assigned in the course.
- Demonstrate the ability to constructively engage in discussions regarding race, sex and gender as they relate to these dance forms.
- Use the knowledge gained from this course to creatively fulfill a final group project related to the course content.
