PETE 2000 - Cultural Perspectives and Physical Activity
Students learn about how various cultures view physical activity. Factors relating to culture and physical activity are be explored. Students have the opportunity to recognize the role and meaning of physical activity in their lives, and in the wider community in which they live.
Credit Hours: 3

Learning Outcomes:
- Collect information about tips and techniques to monitor, maintain, and/or improve physical activity in their life and in the wider community in which they live.
- Describe various cultural perspectives of physical activity.
- Discuss cultural perspectives and physical activity (religious, ethnicity/race, gender, special needs population).
- Discuss working definitions of cultural perspectives and physical activity.
- In different cultures, gather information about physical activity policies and guidelines.
