LJC 4910 - Legal Internship in Law, Justice & Culture


The Legal Internship in Law, Justice & Culture provides students with an opportunity to interact with and learn from legal professionals through a placed legal internship. Additionally, the Legal Internship provides students with an opportunity to explore an area or various areas of law and provide an experiential learning experience. The students then reflect on what they have learned during their internship.

Requisites: 3.0 GPA and (Soph or Jr or Sr) and Permission required
Credit Hours: 1 - 6
OHIO BRICKS: Bridge: Learning and Doing
Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 6.0 hours.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 10.0 internship
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will analyze ethical challenges in law and justice professions.
  • Students will compare and contrast academic theories and concepts to contemporary law and justice problems.
  • Students will evaluate whether a legal education and career is a good fit for them by interacting with legal professionals.
  • Students will identify and define various legal actors.
  • Students will use academic methods, skills, and techniques to support the operation of law and justice offices, organizations, and institutions.
