Program Overview

The Biology Relocation Pathway program within the College of Arts and Sciences is designed to support students who are interested in starting at an Ohio University regional campus and then relocating to the Athens campus to complete their degree. The relocation pathway provides the first two years of the biological sciences degree. 

Admission Information

Freshman/First Year Admission

No requirements beyond University admission requirements. 

Change of Program Policy

Students with 30 or more semester credits should speak with an advisor prior to selecting the Biology Relocation Pathway. 

External Transfer Admission

Students with 30 or more semester credits should speak with an advisor prior to selecting the Biology Relocation Pathway. 

Opportunities Upon Graduation

The Biology Relocation Pathway is intended to help students begin a biological sciences degree at an Ohio University regional campus. Students who relocate to the Athens campus and complete a biological sciences program will be prepared for a wide range of careers, including, but not limited to, work in the state and federal government, higher education settings, the health industry, research laboratories, environmental organizations, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nature centers, museums, etc.

Curricular Information


As this program is intended to facilitate the relocation to the Athens campus for completion of a Biological Sciences program, students should work with their advisor to determine which courses can be completed to meet degree program requirements before relocation. Such courses could potentially consist of General Education requirements, but also BIOS 1700 , BIOS 1705 , BIOS 1710 , BIOS 1715 , BIOS 3100 BIOS 3200 , CHEM 1510 , CHEM 1520 , MATH 2301 , PHYS 2001 , PHYS 2002 , or PSY 2110 .
