There are more than 20,000 graduate and undergraduate students spread across our Athens, Chillicothe, Eastern, Lancaster, Southern and Zanesville campuses. Kylie, Chris and Sully represent a fraction of our learners. Philanthropy is not only making education possible for OHIO students. It’s enriching their lives beyond measure.

Chris’s fellowship award, funded through a donor-supported endowment, empowered him to explore translational biomedical research. His time in clinic, working with patients, spurred his interest in lymphatic pumping and wound healing. Chris is enrolled in OHIO’s D.O./Ph.D. program.
“When I was offered the scholarship, all the other college offers went out the window. To be raised in Appalachia, to come up in that educational system, and to face those stereotypes that say higher education isn’t for you, this opportunity changed my life.”
Sully is enrolled in OHIO’s 4+1 degree track program where he will earn a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, with an emphasis in painting and drawing, and also a master’s degree in Art Education. Upon graduation, Sully will be eligible to teach art in grades pre-K through 12.
“Growing up, I was always worried. I knew I was going to go to college. I just didn’t exactly know how. I’m forever grateful to the donors and to the directors of the Cutler Scholars Program."
Kylie’s scholarship program is for students who are driven to explore how they can use their skills and interests to make a positive impact in their communities. Kylie is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Journalism News and Information.
