As provisioned by the RAY BAUM Act
, all Ohio University softphone users must install the RedSky MyE911 app. Using the MyE911 app will ensure that first responders will be able to locate you quickly and accurately in the event of an emergency where you dial 911.
Accessing the RedSky MyE911 app for the first time will require you to install the application on your device.
RedSky MyE911 is essential for Jabber users. If you use Microsoft Teams softphone exclusively and do not use Jabber, there is no need for the RedSky MyE911 app. Please follow the instructions on the Emergency 911 Calls in Microsoft Teams page
to ensure you have the correct settings for location emergency location sharing within Microsoft Teams.
Environment
PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet
Solution
Softphone users will be able to access RedSky MyE911 once they are enrolled by OIT. Once you receive the welcome email from RedSky, you will be able to download the app to your device.
University-owned devices
Windows PC: Download from Software Center

Make sure your computer is connected to the OHIO network ( wired
or Eduroam Wi-Fi
for on-campus, VPN
for off-campus).

Open your Start Menu.

Select All Programs, then select Microsoft Endpoint Manager, then select Software Center.

Choose RedSky MyE911.

Select Install and follow the prompts.

Some devices may encounter the Settings popup box. Confirm the below fields and select Save. If you do not encounter this popup, proceed to the next step.

When you encounter the Device registration popup box, enter your email address and confirm the Host field appears as below. Select Send.

After you select Send, you will receive an automated email with a verification code. (Check your spam/junk folder if you do not receive an email in your inbox within a few minutes.) Enter the verification code into the Device registration popup box and select Verify.

MyE911 will now be installed on your device.
If your University-owned PC does not have the Software Center application, contact your departmental IT technician or submit a ticket to the Technology Help Center
to enroll in our PC Management
service.
Mac OS: Download from Self Service

Under the Go menu, choose Applications.

Open Self Service.

Choose MyE911 client.

The software will install itself on your Mac within a few minutes. Follow the automatic prompts.

Android and Apple smartphone and tablet users
Search your app store for MyE911 for Mobile v4 by Everbridge Inc.on Android and MyE911 for Mobile v4 by Redsky Technologies, Inc.on Apple and download the app.
Outcome:You should now be able to install the RedSky MyE911 app on your device.
