This page describes the responsibilities of sponsors of OHIO guest accounts and the responsibilities held by OHIO guests. In order to request a guest account, please submit the Request an OHIO guest account form

Note: All guest accounts must be sponsored by an active OHIO faculty or staff member.
Sponsor Responsibilities
Sponsors are responsible for the following:
- The sponsored guest account is used for a legitimate business reason and as such the sponsor accepts responsibility for the access and activity associated with the guest account.
- Appropriate guest account life cycle management as follows:
- The sponsor shall request the guest account for a period not to exceed the necessary duration, based on the legitimate business need.
- In the absence of a set duration, the guest account will default to a period of twelve (12) months.
- In the event the guest account is needed less than the predetermined duration, it is the sponsor's responsibility to request the deactivation of the guest account upon the end of their guest's assignment.
- In the event the guest account is needed for a period greater than twelve (12) months, the sponsor may request renewal of the guest account.
- Sponsors will be notified via their OHIO email fourteen (14) days prior to the sponsorship expiration date to confirm the need for renewal.
- If the sponsor takes no action on the renewal confirmation email, the guest account will be disabled on the expiration date.
- Sponsors understand that guest account access may be revoked, and the sponsor may be contacted by the Information Security office should their sponsored guest(s) be involved in inappropriate use.
Guest Account/ID Cardholder Responsibilities
Individuals receiving a guest account and/or OHIO ID card are responsible for complying with OHIO's policies, standards, and applicable laws and regulations. Should a person with a guest account and/or OHIO ID card violate OHIO policies, standards, or applicable laws and regulations, their guest account access will be revoked.
Revocation of Guest Access
A guest's access is subject to revocation at any time. If access is revoked, the guest account will be disabled immediately.
