How to fix "Authentication Failed" error on Eduroam (Mac)

This document explains how to fix “Authentication failed” errors when prompted with the following error message: Authentication failed on network "eduroam."

Solution:

  1. From any Finder window, select  Command+Shift+Gto bring up the “Go To Folder” field. Then enter the following path:  Library/Preferences/SystemConfigu ration/
  2. Select Go
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/
  3. A system configuration folder will open. 
  4. Delete the file com.apple.network.eapolclient.configuration.plist(which will prompt for local admin credentials). Then restart the computer and connect to eduroam.Select the appropriate file from the System Configuration folder
