Adjusting Canvas Notifications

Description

Canvas includes a set of default notification settings students can receive for their courses. However, students can change the default settings by setting their own notification settings. These settings only apply to the individual student; they are not used to control how course updates are sent to other students.

Environment

Canvas in your web browser or the Canvas Student app

Solution 

1. Log in to Canvas at canvas.ohio.edu.
2. In the global navigation menu on the left, select Account.
3. Select  Notifications.
4. View your account notification settings .
5. Update your notification timing and delivery preferences by managing your notification settings .
6. If you have enabled push notifications in the Canvas Student app on your mobile device, you can manage your push notification settings as well.

Outcome:You should now be able to adjust your notification preferences from within Canvas.
