Student Exchange Program

The student exchange program is an exclusive, business-focused arrangement with partner universities:

  • École Supérieure de Commerce in Dijon (in France),
  • Universita Politecnica Della Marche (in Italy), and
  • Institut Químic de Sarrià at Universitat Ramon Llulll (in Spain).

This opportunity affords our top students unparalleled exposure to academics, culture, and business outside of the US. Accepted students will live abroad for one or two semesters.

Eligibility

The program is open to College of Business undergraduates who have a minimum GPA of 2.75. Students are selected based on their academic achievements, personal essay, references, and interview. Students will apply through Ohio University’s online system and will also complete an application form to submit to the institution he or she wishes to attend (this will be provided after Ohio University nominates the student to the program). All suitable applicants will be invited for an interview before a final decision is made on which students will be nominated to the program.

Notes:

  • Students who have a judicial record may be ineligible to study abroad. ( Read the judicial policy )
  • This program is not open to non-Ohio University students.

Costs

Ohio University students participating in exchange programs pay Ohio University tuition and fees for the coursework they undertake while abroad. Students will also be charged for health insurance coverage for the duration of their stay. The cost of airfare, transportation, housing, and other living expenses are borne by the individual student.

Health and Safety

Ohio University's CIBED suggests you follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control for healthy travel to your destination. Please familiarize yourself with these recommendations and requirements prior to applying to a program. Refer to the State Department website for information related to safety and security at your destination.

Requesting Accommodation for Disabilities

Students participating in an Ohio University exchange program should communicate with their CIBED program coordinator on how to request accommodation from the partner institution.

Entry and exit requirements

U.S. citizens are required to have a valid U.S. passport when traveling outside of the United States. If you plan to study or travel abroad in the next year, apply for your passport now. You may need to show sufficient funds to support yourself while in-country.

Some countries also require a visa to legally enter and reside in the country. Note that visa requirements may vary if you plan to stay in the country longer than the program dates or travel to other countries during or after the program. Please familiarize yourself with these recommendations and requirements prior to applying to a program.

École Supérieure de Commerce - Burgundy School of Business (Dijon, France)

École Supérieure de Commerce - Burgundy School of Business, is a leading business school located in Dijon, France. The university offers a Bachelor in Marketing & Business as well as a Master in Management. The university boasts a vibrant international community with 30% of the student body and 35% of the faculty not of French nationality. The class sizes are small and the facilities are modern. And for easy assimilation, an association created for international students, "Melting Potes," helps students get acclimated to their new environment. In addition to this group Burgundy School of Business offers many student activities and clubs as well as sport and gym facilities.

Dijon is a historic city located in eastern France, and it serves as the capital of the Côte-d'Or département and of the Burgundy region. The city, with a population of 152,000, is known for it's beautiful architecture and excellent museums. The Burgundy wine region boasts some of the most exotic and expensive wines in the world, and the city provides convenient access to other European travel destinations.

Universita Politecnica Della Marche [UNIVPM] – Faculty of Economics (Ancona, Italy)

UNIVPM was founded over 50 years ago and was the first Italian university to receive Quality Certification in accordance with the International Standard ISO 9001, so the institution is a point of reference for training Italian and foreign students. The institution cultivates the international experience and promotes it as the future in higher education with a strong economics department, numerous multimedia centers, fully-equipped laboratories, and a staff dedicated to helping students in every aspect.

Ancona offers a great environment for learning and engaging in the local culture. As the capital of the Marche Region, it is a port city of just over 100,000 people. It is centered on the Adriatic coast and is full of art, historical monuments, shops, and many local businesses that cater to young people. The Marche Region of Italy boasts mountains, beaches, caves, and sprawling national parks.

Institut Químic de Sarrià at Universitat Ramon Llull - IQS School of Management (Barcelona, Spain)

The Institut Químic de Sarrià (IQS), part of Ramon Llull University, is located in Barcelona, Spain. IQS is comprised of the School of Engineering and the School of Management. In addition to Master- and PhD-level programs, the School of Management offers a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and Administration. The university strives to "develop and maintain the processes and programs necessary to provide our students with a top-quality education in Business Administration."

Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain, with a population of nearly two million people. It's known for food, fashion, and entertainment, and there are hundreds of restaurants, museums, outdoor markets, shops and beautiful beaches to explore. Barcelona is gorgeous and historic with amazing architecture. Plus, public transit is readily available to help navigate the city.
