Rob Flewelling is a 4th-year doctoral student from the Michigan School of Psychology in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and one of the Health Service Psychology interns at Ohio University Counseling and Psychological Services this year! Rob has worked as a masters-level mental health clinician in Michigan since 2009 in a variety of environments, including private practice settings and college counseling centers. He returned to school in 2022 to complete his doctorate, widen his clinical expertise, and grow as a psychotherapist. Rob utilizes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from cognitive-behavioral theory, Rogerian client-centered therapy, psycho-dynamic therapy, and existentialism. Through this process, he strives to provide a psycho-therapeutic environment that is uniquely collaborative and warm, and Rob seeks to have his psychotherapy reflect the individuality of the client, offer the opportunity to identify core difficulties, develop a means of overcoming them, and work towards a deeper self-understanding. His clinical interests include depression, anxiety, difficulties in emerging adulthood, identity development, couples therapy, exploring meaning and purpose in life, and trauma resolution. In his personal life, Rob has too many interests and hobbies. Still, his favorite things are long-distance running, playing hockey, alpine skiing, hiking, French press coffee, Italian food, reading a good book, and exploring record stores for new music and first pressing vinyl.
