About the Gallery
The Ohio University Eastern Art Gallery displays the works of local and national artists, as well as of the faculty, staff, and students of Ohio University. It is located on the second floor of Shannon Hall on the Ohio University Eastern campus. It is open Monday through Thursday from 10am - 4pm. Admission is free.

Interested in booking an art exhibition?
Artists interested in showing their work in the gallery are invited to submit a proposal to the OHIO Eastern Art Gallery Advisory Board. Proposals are considered on a rolling basis during the academic year. Email Hiromi Katayama, OHIO Eastern Art Gallery Curator for more information.

Regional Art ShowcaseTuesday, February 20 thru Friday, March 8, 2024In a celebration of artistic expression in the Ohio Valley and across our region, OHIO Eastern's Art Gallery will host the opening of "Regional Art Showcase: a collection of 2D and 3D art pieces from ten regional artists. There will be light refreshments and a chance to talk each artist about their individual pieces of art. An opening reception will take place on Tuesday, February. 20, from 7 – 8:30 p.m.

Tea Ceremony and Nihinga DisplayFriday, April 19, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.The tea ceremony, or Chado (The Way of Tea), is a traditional Japanese art involving the ritualistic preparation of tea. Influenced by the philosophy of Zen Buddhism, the core teaching of chado is to attain a spiritual state of selflessness and peacefulness through making and sharing tea. Join us to learn the history and philosophy of Japanese tea ceremony while tasting Japanese tea and sweets.
