
Associate Professor of Education
Dr. Kevin Cordi is an Associate Professor of Education at OHIO Lancaster, where he brings over two decades of experience in both classroom instruction and the art of storytelling to his work with future educators. Since joining the campus in 2019, Dr. Cordi has led the Middle Childhood Education program, fostering creative, student-centered teaching practices that empower learners of all backgrounds.
With a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Storytelling, Education, and Literacy, Dr. Cordi’s research and teaching focus on how narrative and oral storytelling can transform literacy instruction, build community, and support deeper learning. He is a passionate advocate for integrating story into pedagogy—not just as content, but as a powerful tool for inquiry, empathy, and engagement.
Beyond academia, Dr. Cordi is a nationally recognized professional storyteller and storytelling coach, performing and consulting since 2001. He has worked with schools, festivals, and organizations across the country to mentor educators and performers in the art and purpose of storytelling. He is also the Founder and Director of the Voices Across the World Storytelling Project, an international initiative that promotes the educational value of youth storytelling across cultures.
Known for his vibrant energy, creativity, and commitment to imaginative learning, Dr. Cordi continues to inspire both students and educators to discover the power of their own stories—and to use them to build more meaningful, inclusive learning environments.
