As communicated previously
, Ohio University is asking any employee who has recently traveled to country that has a CDC Level 3 Travel Health Notice
or who believes they may have been exposed to COVID-19 not to return to work for at least 14 days and to contact their local health department immediately for further information.
In addition, any employee who has recently traveled outside their campus community to an area with confirmed COVID-19 cases may not return to in-person work on campus for 14 days. Academic and Administrative supervisors should provide remote work if at all possible.
As the coronavirus can be transmitted by carriers with no symptoms, we are asking all to be extra vigilant at this time as this is a quickly evolving situation. We have a growing number of confirmed cases in the United States, and this serves as a reminder to employ preventive measures that will help curtail the spread of all respiratory viruses, including:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
