COVID-19 campus updates

A few updates for the University community about dining options for quarantine and isolation halls, masks on public transportation, and individuals who have tested positive should not test for 90 days.

Dining options for quarantine and isolation halls

OHIO residential students who will be staying in isolation or quarantine housing have several dining options.

Order from Culinary Services:Students will receive information via email from Housing and Residence Life about ordering meals before they move to an isolation or quarantine hall. More information is available here. Students may use their meal plan to order meals for delivery; students without a meal plan or with insufficient meals on the plan to cover the order may charge the cost to their student account. For questions about Culinary Services offerings, email dining@ohio.edu .

Have food delivered:

  • Order via delivery service:Students may use contactless food delivery services such as Door Dash.
  • Deliveries from individuals:Friends and family members can drop off snacks and groceries for contactless pickup outside the hall. They must drop it at the exterior door and are not permitted in the building; students are not permitted to fully leave the building to pick up any items delivered.

It is the student’s responsibility to coordinate door delivery with any friends, family or other delivery services.

Bring food to prepare:Students may bring food and basic items for microwave cooking for use with the in-room micro-fridge.

Culinary Services makes shelf-stable snacks available in isolation and quarantine halls, in addition to bottled water and electrolyte beverages. A water bottle filling station is available on the ground floor of each hall.

Reminder: Masks required on public transportation

Students, faculty, staff, and visitors to all OHIO campuses are required to wear masks on public transportation in addition to indoors and when entering, exiting, or standing in line to enter an indoor campus facility.

The public transportation mask requirement includes evening, weekend and on-demand services. Wearing a mask is an easy action and is required by federal law.

Individuals who have tested positive should not test for 90 days

Students, faculty, and staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days should not participate in asymptomatic testing through Vault Health or OHIO’s CVS testing center. Those who are required to test weekly are exempt from testing during that time; individuals also should not test by choice through Vault Health or CVS during that 90-day period.

Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 but have not already reported the positive test to COVID Operations should do so by submitting an incident report.
